Soldotna
resident Dorothy E. Israel died Saturday, Jan. 29, 2005, at
Central Peninsula General Hospital in Soldotna. She was 43.
A celebration of life will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 4,
at Peninsula Grace Brethren Church, 44175 Kalifornsky Beach
Road in Soldotna. Pastor Chuck Thornton will officiate. Ms.
Israel was born Jan. 9, 1962, in Trenton, N.J. She moved to
Anchorage in 1973 and during the 1980s, she worked as a mail
carrier with the U.S. Post Office in Anchorage. Dorothy moved
to Soldotna in 1991 and worked as a clerk at the U.S. Post Office
in Kenai. She enjoyed outdoor activities. Ms. Israel is survived
by her mother, Janice Pierce of Deer Park, Wash.; father, Richard
Schoeffel of Ocala, Fla.; son, Wade of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter,
Megan of Soldotna; son, Andrew of Soldotna; son, Corbin of Soldotna;
brother, Patrick Schoeffel of Anchorage; and sister, Catherine
Gibson of Deer Park. Memorial contributions will be placed into
a college fund for Ms. Israel's children at Alaska USA Federal
Credit Union, Account No. 274032, 43874 Sterling Highway, Soldotna,
AK 99669. Arrangements were made by Peninsula Memorial Chapel
in Kenai.

God broke
our heats to prove he only takes the best. he had 8 children
and 23 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. he loved to
fish and work on auotmobiles liked to watch wresseling oh would
he get excited over that and his fishing his dream was to go
to canada and fish the waters there but the good lord asked
him to come home before he could get there but now he can go
all he wants to ! we love you dad and we miss you so very much
god be with you always
